UAE commences COVID-19 vaccine production

The joint venture between China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) and UAE's Group 42 has started production of the vaccine developed by Sinopharm, called Hayat-Vax. The new vaccine plant in KIZAD will become operational this year and over its phased development will have an annual production capacity of 200 million doses. Currently, Hayat-Vax is produced by the local pharmaceutical company Julphar with an initial capacity of two million doses per month.
