Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan launched

Key goals of the plan are to double green and recreational areas, to create nature reserves and rural natural areas which cover 60% of the Emirate as well as to increase the area set for public beaches by 400%. The plan is the seventh of its kind since 1960, taking into consideration that between 1960 and 2020 Dubai's population has multiplied 80 times from 40,000 to 3.3 million.
