VAT may be introduced in UAE in 2018

According to the undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Finance, it would take two years for the law on value-added tax (VAT) to be implemented once it is issued. Furthermore, he stated that the VAT would range from 3% to 5%, while certain sectors, such as health care, education, social services and staple food items, were going to be excluded.
