UAE-wide mandatory health insurance to be introduced

All private-sector employees and domestic workers will have to be covered under a compulsory health insurance scheme from 01.01.2025 onwards. Employers will be required to pay for the health insurance of their employees while applying for or renewing their residence visas. Currently, only employers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are obliged to provide health insurance to their employees.
