New UAE Labour Law comes into force today

Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 replaces Federal Law No. 8 of 1980. The new regulations apply to employees in the private sector and include flexible working conditions such as part-time work, the abolition of unlimited-term employment contracts, new rights and obligations in case of termination during probationary period as well as enhanced benefits for new mothers and protection against discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace.
