New mandatory basic health insurance scheme

The new health cover for private employees and domestic workers will come into effect on 01.01.2025. The basic insurance package is available through the DubaiCare network and costs AED 320 a year. While mandatory health insurance has already been implemented in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for a number of years, the new scheme will extend coverage to all other emirates of the UAE.
