Private sector companies, which are regulated by the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MoHRE) and have a workforce of 50 and more, have to raise the number of Emirati employees to a minimum of 4% by the end of 2023. The fines for not complying with the Emiratisation requirements will also go up on annual basis, raising them to AED 84,000 for every UAE national who was not hired in 2023.
