Dubai Water Canal set for opening today

It took three years to build the 3.2 km water body which cuts through the city's three prominent arteries, including the 16-lane Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Road. The 6 m deep and 120 m wide canal will ensure free flow of green waters of the Arabian Gulf from Shindagha in Bur Dubai to Jumeirah, a distance of 27 km.
