Ban on single-use products introduced in Dubai

The first phase started yesterday with banning single-use plastic bags, to be followed by banning non-plastic single-use products from 01.06.2024, including single-use bags. From 01.01.2025 onwards, further single-use plastic items, such as stirrers, cups and straws, will be prohibited. The last phase will kick in on 01.01.2026 with banning other single-use plastic products, such as plates, food containers and lids.
