Autonomous driving on the rise

Apollo Go, the robotaxi division of the Chinese technology company Baidu, has completed hundreds of test drives with its self-driving RT6 vehicles in Dubai without any reported safety incidents. Baidu plans to roll out its commercial operations in Dubai fully driverless in the first quarter of 2026, making Dubai its first global market outside China. Furthermore, five pilot routes have been launched by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) for driverless heavy vehicles in Dubai.
