With 400 aircraft gates, five parallel runways and a capacity to handle up to 260 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo a year, Dubai's airport Al Maktoum is going to be five times the size of Dubai International Airport. The first phase of expansion is expected to be completed within 10 years and will handle 150 million passengers annually.
